Perinatal leadership and culture programme (PCLP)

The national programme to deliver safer and more equitable care to mothers and preterm babies

The Maternity and Neonatal PCLP is a national improvement programme which aims to: ​

• Improve the quality of care and experiences of women, babies and families by enabling leaders to drive change with a better understanding of the relationship between compassionate and inclusive leadership, safety improvement and safety culture.​
• Support perinatal leadership teams to create and craft the conditions for a positive culture of safety and continuous improvement, enabling a more psychologically safe, collaborative, and supportive workplace.​
• To embed culture work in everyday practice.​

Network support​

As the regional Patient Safety Collaborative, Health Innovation East Midlands is supporting teams to: ​

• Grow and sustain a perinatal approach to the PCLP.​
• Grow and sustain the role of the Culture Coach.​
• Facilitate and champion the spread of MOMENTS - a framework of resources to nurture safety culture development through everyday practices together.
