The Health Innovation East Midlands NHS Value Proposition Workshop is jointly delivered with Pioneer Group.

This 3-day Pre-Accelerator is designed to help those looking for structured guidance around how to progress their innovative healthcare ideas and concepts and is open to NHS / clinical entrepreneurs and healthcare innovators/start-ups. Developing pioneering medical technology and transforming healthcare takes more than just an idea and a proactive approach, there are lots of elements to take into consideration. Through this workshop innovators are supported to:

  • Carry out customer discovery
  • Develop a business value proposition
  • Commercialise your idea
  • Identify funding opportunities

Prerequisites:

Completion of two Health Innovation East Midlands Innovation Academy modules is required as a pre-requisite for the Health Innovation East Midlands NHS Value Proposition Workshop:

  • Pre-Accelerator FAQs

    My idea is at a very early stage, will I be suitable for the Programme?

    Yes, the Pre-Accelerator will support you through the early stages of customer discovery and developing a clear value proposition. If your business or idea is suitable to sell into the NHS, this Pre-Accelerator is for you.

     

    Do I have to attend all three days of the Pre-Accelerator Workshop?

    Yes, you will get the most out of the workshop by attending all sessions and be best prepared for the pitch day. However, if you have a team, it is fine for members to split attendance across the three days.

     

    I’m an international business, can I still join the Programme?

    Yes, our workshop is delivered virtually, and Health Innovation East Midlands is excited to support the exploitation of your innovation across our region and enter the NHS market.

     

    How many companies do you accept onto the Accelerator Programme?

    To get the best out of our workshop we limit the virtual attendance to 12 companies. Surplus applicants will be invited to attend the next programme date.

     

    Does it cost anything to join the Programme?

    No, the programme is funded by Health Innovation East Midlands.

     

    Will my IP be shared?

    We do not interrogate the intellectual property, nor the technical background of your innovation within this workshop. There is no requirement to disclose commercially sensitive information in this workshop.

     

    What other Accelerator opportunities are available?

    • Pioneer Group
      Innovators from the Pre-Accelerator then have the chance of progressing to the Pioneer Group Accelerator programme.
      The Accelerator is an eight-week programme which will build on the learnings from the Pre-Accelerator, in order for companies to progress their ideas to commercialisation. Companies will also have the opportunity to win £100,000 of support and gain access to Pioneer Group's network of key industry figures, senior executives, investors and entrepreneurial peers. This is a competitive process and companies who have completed the Pre-Accelerator are required to apply and will need to pitch their ideas in front of an expert panel.

    • Digital Health Accelerator
      The programme aims to support innovators to bring forward their digital solutions to address some of the most pressing challenges within the NHS and Care systems, including NHS waiting lists and the promotion of self-care in the community.
      The East Midlands DHA has a history of assisting companies to not only polish their value propositions but also achieve actual deployment and adoption within the East Midlands health and care system.

    • NHS Clinical Entrepreneurs Programme
      The Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is a workforce development programme for clinical and non-clinical NHS staff, run by NHS England’s Innovation, Research and Life Sciences group and delivered jointly with Anglia Ruskin University. The programme welcomes applications from a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals with an interest in entrepreneurship and innovation – could this be you or someone you know?
