Health Education England has published a set of materials and films which aim to support staff through difficult conversations arising from the COVID-19 outbreak. The AHSN Network was part of a small group of people that helped pull this resource together in less than two weeks.

Now that our partners across the NHS and social care are mobilising at scale in response to the developing COVID-19 pandemic, the role of England’s 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) is to support them by helping them take full advantage of the most relevant innovations and technologies that can improve care for patients and support our services in this challenging context.
Nationally, the AHSN Network is part of a coordinated NHS response to identify and enable the implementation of technologies that respond to areas of highest priority action, in particular solutions for remote consultation and patient monitoring, diagnostics and point-of-care testing.
Wessex and the West of England Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs), funded by Health Education England, have collaborated to produce a series of free videos and e-learning materials to support staff working in care homes to care for residents who are at risk of deterioration.
The NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) has announced today the 11 high impact innovations joining the national accelerator in 2020. One of which is Tony Doyle, Managing Director of Qbtech, whose innovation QbTest is a CE-marked, FDA approved medical device that simultaneously measures attention, impulsivity and motor activity to speed up ADHD diagnosis and treatment evaluation.
