On Thursday 18 September 2025, Health Innovation East Midlands will host a key event for NHS and healthcare organisations to showcase a range of cutting-edge health technologies.

The innovations are all ready to implement and aim to support the NHS in rolling out digital technology, preventing ill health, and bringing care closer to home.

The innovations that will be exhibited are listed in full here and include:

  • SiSU Health Station – designed for use in community and workplace settings, it enables individuals to undertake a self-service health check in less than 5 minutes, allowing individuals to check and improve key health indicators such as blood pressure, BMI and cardiovascular risk.
  • Healthy Mind VR – therapeutic virtual reality to reduce pain and anxiety. The solution is an evidence-based medical device that combines immersive experiences through virtual reality technology.
  • Genedrive system – a rapid genetic testing platform that delivers automated results, enabling clinicians to make informed decisions directly at the patient’s bedside. It can be used in neonatal intensive care units, where it helps guide antibiotic use, ensuring effective treatment while reducing the risk of adverse effects.

The event will focus on innovations across a range of health themes, including maternity and neonatal care, mental health, cancer, surgical innovation, primary care access, and community care.

In addition to the exhibition of innovations, the event will include keynote talks from national and local health leaders who will explore the role of innovation in transforming the NHS.

Nicole McGlennon, Managing Director for Health Innovation East Midlands, said: “We enable innovation and transformation across health and care, helping East Midlands NHS and healthcare organisations to identify, test and implement solutions that can improve care and deliver lasting change.

“Harnessing innovation will be essential to achieving the ambitions of the new NHS Long Term Plan, and the showcase aims to accelerate the adoption of digital, AI and other technologies that respond to some of the biggest challenges facing our NHS.

“Delegates will have the chance to see 24 proven innovations already making a difference, meet the people behind them, and explore how they can be adopted locally. We look forward to supporting the connections between healthcare and innovators in the room.”

Keynote speakers at the event are:

  • Will Warburton, Director of Life Sciences Policy and Strategy at NHS England: The NHS 10 Year Plan - Enabling transformation of healthcare through research, innovation, and life sciences.
  • Amanda Sullivan, Chief Executive, NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board: How the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire system is transforming through innovation and technology.
  • Nigel Brunskill, Director of Research and Innovation for the University Hospitals of Leicester and University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Trust Partnership Group: How research and innovation can be harnessed to drive transformative change.
