Our innovations

Our work programme spans national and local priorities, reflecting the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) and addressing identified health priorities and key challenges facing the health and care system.

We also use relevant and specialist reference groups, including patient and public involvement and health charities, to provide insight and help shape our plans.

All of our projects will be in one of two phases:

Demonstrator phase - This is where we support implementation within at least one East Midlands location or ICS area and support the development of a business case for sustainability and for adoption and spread in other ICS area or outside of our region.

Adoption and spread phase - This is where proven East Midlands demonstrator projects are ready for further spread within and beyond our region or where projects have been proven in other Health Innovation Networks areas and we ‘import’ them because they either address an identified priority for at least one of our region’s ICSs or have been agreed as a national Health Innovation Network priority.

Having both a local and national focus enables us to take successful programmes pioneered in the East Midlands and export them within and outside our region - including internationally.
