Results from a YouGov survey commissioned by NHS England to help all 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) understand progress, highlight areas of good practice and identify areas for collective development has just been published.

Over 150 people completed the survey for EMAHSN and results indicate that EMAHSN is an accessible organisation that is working to identify and spread innovation at pace and scale. The report also highlighted an increase in the value commissioners place on EMAHSN’s support.
Results from the East Midlands survey respondents include:

• 77% recommend working with EMAHSN
• 80% said EMAHSN’s support has been valuable in supporting collaboration and 87% for identifying and spreading innovation
• 91% said their working relationship with EMAHSN has maintained or improved over the past year
• 78% said EMAHSN staff are helpful

The results also provide valuable feedback about areas for future focus. These include:

• Ensuring EMAHSN’s plans are clearly communicated and shared
• Building on existing links with organisations across the region involved with transformation in order to increase the spread and adoption of proven innovation

EMAHSN Managing Director Mike Hannay said: “We are incredibly pleased with the feedback we have received, particularly as so many people completed the survey, which we are very grateful for. Since I started in August 2016 I have seen the commitment and effort the whole team makes to improve the health of our population and I’m thrilled this has been highlighted in the results.

“There are also some areas where we need to continue to focus and we have already put in place plans to address these over the coming year.”
