In collaboration with the local health innovation networks across England, we have published our new national Prospectus – a forward-looking statement of our collective ambition, priorities and opportunities for collaboration.

At a time when the NHS is facing unprecedented demand, workforce pressures and financial constraints, innovation has never been more important. Yet healthcare's biggest challenge is not invention. It is adoption of innovation at scale. The Health Innovation Network exists to solve that challenge systematically across the NHS.

As a national Network of 15 local organisations embedded in health and care systems across England, we bring together the NHS, industry, academia, local government, charities and communities to find, test, implement and scale innovations that can improve patient outcomes, increase productivity and drive economic growth.

Since 2020 across England:

• More than seven million patients have benefited from our national and local programmes and over 740,000 hours of healthcare staff capacity have been released through our initiatives

• Beyond the NHS, our support for innovators has contributed more than £4.4 billion to the UK economy and helped create or safeguard more than 12,600 jobs since 2018.

Within the East Midlands we are making a significant contribution – over the past 12 months alone, we have:

• Positively impacted the lives of 120,000 people

• Innovations we have supported have released 72,000 hours of healthcare staff capacity

• Our overall estimated value to the healthcare system is £77.8M against funding of 5.4M.
