Health Innovation East Midlands and the Midlands Clinical Senates are hosting a webinar exploring the key challenges to implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, and the practical steps that can help organisations overcome them.

The session, ‘Barriers to implementing AI in healthcare – and how to overcome them’, will take place on Tuesday 12 May, 1:00–2:00pm and is open to health and care professionals interested in introducing AI tools and technologies into clinical or operational practice.

The webinar will share insights from the Midlands Clinical Senates’ work examining the barriers to the widespread adoption of AI in health and care, including findings published in the peer-reviewed journal article A Systematic Review of the Barriers to the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.

Delegates will hear directly from the Clinical Leadership Fellows who led the research, alongside case studies from health and care teams who have experienced – and successfully navigated – the challenges of introducing AI into practice.

The session will aim to deepen understanding of the barriers organisations face when adopting AI, while also offering practical, actionable insights to help mitigate these challenges and support the safe and effective use of AI to improve health and care services.
