Health Innovation East Midlands has launched a new Innovation Fund to support NHS organisations in the East Midlands working to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with cardiovascular disease (CVD).

The fund will support the deployment of MedTech and digital health solutions that focus on:

  • Communication, mobilising and empowering patients and communities to access data and information that help to understand, control, maintain and potentially improve outcomes post-diagnosis of any CVD condition.
  • Improvement in patient lifestyle and behaviour change aligned to improving patient outcomes post-diagnosis of any CVD condition.
  • Identification and treatment of hypertension.

Up to £25,000 is available and funding will be awarded for two projects. The fund can cover the cost of the innovation itself or project management support.

This opportunity builds on the recent CVD Prevention Innovation Exchange, held on 13 March 2025. You can watch the event recording and access resources here.

Projects must involve new or novel innovation that would be unlikely to progress without financial support. While the fund was inspired by innovations showcased at the recent event, applicants can propose any relevant technology aligned with the funding themes.

Key Dates

  • Deadline for initial expressions of interest: 11 April 2025
  • Notification of outcomes: 22 April 2025
  • Deadline for detailed applications (for shortlisted projects): 28 May 2025
  • Final interviews: 3 June 2025

Applicants should outline how the project will be sustainable beyond the initial funding.
