A digital technology that has supported more than 70,000 children and young people across England, has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2025 HSJ Digital Awards.

QbTest is an assessment tool developed by Qbtech, that measures the core components of ADHD (attention, impulsivity and activity).

When used to support the clinical assessment processes, it has been shown to significantly reduce the time to diagnosis – speeding up access to care and freeing up clinician time.

The technology was initially tested out in the East Midlands, then rapidly rolled across England via the 15 health innovation networks – and by 2024 it had been implemented in more than three quarters of NHS trusts that provide ADHD services.

Since 2020 more than 71,000 young people have benefited, over 95,000 hours of healthcare capacity has been released, and around £40M has been saved for the NHS.

Previously a winner in the 2019 and 2022 HSJ awards, the innovation has now been shortlisted in the mental health and clinical pathway transformation categories at the 2025 HSJ Digital Health Awards.

Winners will be announced at the ceremony in Birmingham on 26 June.
