Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join its Patient Public Leadership and Equalities (PPLE) team. This Public Involvement and Equalities Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to impact healthcare innovations and transformation across the East Midlands, ensuring that the patient voice is represented across our programmes. 

In this pivotal role within the PPLE team, you’ll be at the heart of healthcare transformation, supporting the NHS and healthcare partners to bring about meaningful change following patient involvement and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). 

 

We're looking for someone who is passionate about patient involvement and EDI and is excited by the opportunity to work across the East Midlands health and care system. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Patient and public participation: support HIEM’s Patient and Public Leadership programme to embed patient and public views in internal and external projects. 
  • Support on EDI: Advise and support HIEM’s internal teams on EDI initiatives, including the production of Equality Impact Assessments or Equality Analyses. 
  • Events & resource development: Plan and coordinate thought leadership events, webinars, and produce valuable resources on PPI and EDI. 
  • Collaborative work packages: Provide expertise to deliver PPI and EDI work packages for HIEM’s external partners and health innovators. 

This is an initial 12-month fixed-term position (or secondment). The closing date for applications is 11.59pm Sunday 8 December 2024.
