Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) is delighted to share the latest annual report by the Digital Health Transformation Service at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT), which showcases a fantastic year of positive impacts.

HIEM and collectively as part of a connected network of 14 other Health Innovation Networks (HIN) across England, have supported the innovation ChatHealth since 2015, as part of the Digital Transformation Service. ChatHealth is a confidential text messaging service that allows young people to easily connect with healthcare professionals for help and advice on a range of topics.

HINs have played an instrumental role in supporting the rapid scaling of ChatHealth nationally and it is now available in every region in England.

The latest impacts from the report for ChatHealth highlight:

1. A record year with 12,000 messaging conversations handled, on average, every month
2. Adopted by 80+ NHS providers
3. 667,043 incoming messages received in 2023-24

As a result of its continued success not only does ChatHealth support young people but has extended its reach providing invaluable support to parents of young children and mums with newborn babies.
