Health Innovation East Midlands is saddened to share the passing of a colleague who played a key role in driving health innovation.

Erica Warren died peacefully on 2 August 2024.

She joined the HIEM team in June 2023 as Innovation Lead for the East Midlands Alliance for Mental Health, Learning Difficulties, and Autism.  Her role involved working with Mental Health Trusts across the East Midlands to understand their unique challenges and priorities and working with colleagues to identify innovation with the potential to impact.

Erica had a passion for, and an extensive and varied background in the NHS and research roles.

Nicole McGlennon, Managing Director, HIEM said: “Erica will be truly missed; she had a pivotal role in our organisation. We will miss her knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humour. We offer our condolences to her family and friends at this sad time.”

In memory of Erica HIEM will raise funds for the Dogs Trust and host a Macmillan coffee morning in September.
