Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) in September will hold a virtual event focusing on the theme of Workforce Wellbeing. Innovators with promising innovations have been drawn upon to showcase their solutions.
The webinar is part of the HIEMs Innovation Exchange approach based on the region's health system challenges.
During the pandemic, health and care staff faced indescribable difficulties with many studies reporting increased rates of depression, anxiety, stress and other serious issues. Whilst sickness absence rates have declined since their peak in January 2022, rates remain higher than those observed pre-pandemic with variation across the country and by care setting.
A Kings Fund study confirmed that an integrated approach to staff wellbeing can increase employee engagement, which plays an important role in patient experience, satisfaction and mortality rates.
Our engagement with local health and care stakeholders has indicated that opportunities for improvement and innovation remain. Innovators have been invited to showcase solutions that best fit our local organisations' needs.
