East Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative will be hosting four Rapid Insights events on 5th, 13th, 21st and 29th September 2022 from 1pm-1:30pm. These will be 20–30-minute MS Teams sessions to explore the barriers and challenges in the escalation of deterioration of women and babies. Facilitated by the safety networks clinical improvement advisors Cindy Meijer and Sarah Sarjant.
These sessions will provide the opportunity to have open and honest discussions on key questions which will be used to map out the challenges in the region and support the planning to equip you with tools to enable improvements in the escalation of deterioration of women and babies.
The National Patient Safety team are leading on the development and testing of Maternity Early Warning Score tools and the British Association of Perinatal Medicine is leading on the Neonatal Early Warning Trigger and Track 2 tool. Hospital trusts will be supported to adopt and spread these tools within an effective Prevention, Identification, Escalation and Response (PIER) pathway for managing deterioration. These online sessions are designed to provide a space to discuss factors affecting clinical escalation.
This event is open to midwives, neonatal nurses, healthcare assistants, obstetricians and neonatologists and anyone else who delivers care in this area.
