The latest EMAHSN Impact Report for 2021-22 reveals that 389 health and care sites have been supported to implement and adopt transformative innovations and over £20.1 million of investment has been leveraged for the region's economy.

As the innovation arm of the NHS for the East Midlands, the report summaries a snapshot of the work to support health and care systems to adopt, spread and embed innovation and transformation.

Impacts from the report include:

• 19,500 patients benefited by having an objective ADHD assessment, saving the NHS a potential £6.5m in a programme originating from the East Midlands
• 419 young people benefit from an earlier assessment of an eating disorder as a result of an early intervention programme
• Over 370,000 people received intensive therapy to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes

Looking ahead, the report also highlights a new horizon scanning service linked to the Innovation Pipeline which gives support to local health and care systems by carrying out bespoke searches to find innovations that meet specific challenges.  Find out more about the service here.
