EMAHSN is pleased to welcome Tony Locock to his new role as co-chair of the PPI Senate – a network of expert patient leaders from across the region. 

Tony joins Susan Edge as joint co-chair following the sad death of previous co-chair Veronica Price-Job.

Tony has been a member of the PPI Senate since 2017 and brings a wealth of skills to the role.

Now retired, Tony has experience of strategic leadership, running large projects and management consultancy. He has worked at senior levels in Human Resources and is committee secretary with a large health care mutual in the UK.

He has previously held roles at Wellingborough MIND and was a Governor with a mental health trust in the East Midlands.

The Senate is made up of experienced patient and public contributors. Their invaluable perspectives help guide the East Midlands AHSN and our region’s health and care system, to ensure patients and service users are central to our work.

The co-chairs provide leadership, coordination and support to the group. They also form part of the East Midlands AHSN Governance Board, putting patient co-production at the heart of our organisation.

Tony said: “I would not have wanted to take on the role in such sad circumstances. Veronica as a woman of colour provided diversity and a perspective that’s difficult to emulate. I will endeavour to keep that perspective in mind in undertaking the role.”
