East Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative (EMPSC) Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) are asking managers of care homes to take part in a survey, to better understand the views of care home teams in relation to recognition and management of deteriorating residents.

The PSC would like to find out what approaches and tools are used to support the management of deterioration in care homes, as well as providing the opportunity to share what is working well, identifying examples of good practice and identify areas for improvement where we may be able to support.

The survey is open until Friday 25 June and will help to shape how the PSC delivers the national Managing Deterioration Patient Safety Improvement Programme in the region.

Senior Improvement Lead, Tracey Jackman, said: ‘Care home staff are central to understanding and responding to their residents’ wishes and keeping them safe when they are becoming unwell.’
