Newly released figures show that the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) has generated almost £500 million inward investment for our nation during the past two years (2018- 2020), and that close to 2000 jobs have been created or protected during this time.

The impressive results for the region come as a result of working closely with innovators and SME’s supporting their journey as part of the innovation pathway. This not only supports the adoption and spread across the health and social care system but also generates economic growth.
The AHSN Network works closely with a huge range of companies, helping them to adapt quickly and respond to NHS needs in the most effective way – for example, in the early days of the pandemic, the Network was able to quickly curate a database of over 350 proven technologies that could be interrogated against COVID-19 challenge areas.
