Last night (5 December), EMAHSN presented innovative East Midlands healthtech company Spirit Healthcare with a coveted award at the annual Medilink East Midlands Business Awards.

The Medilink East Midlands Business Awards celebrate the achievements, breakthroughs and innovations of companies operating or moving into the healthcare, med tech or bioscience sector.

Spirit Healthcare were presented the award for Delivering Innovation in Health and Care, which was sponsored by EMAHSN, in recognition of their innovative approaches to meeting the healthcare needs of local populations.

They have a number of products including a diabetes education service, medicines optimisation programmes,  and a product named ‘Clinitouch Vie’ which empowers patients with long term conditions to better self-manage and enables healthcare teams to actively monitor a patient’s condition – enabling a prioritised focus on those who need support.

Spirit are alumni of the EMAHSN’s East Midlands Digital Health Accelerator for their product Clinitouch Vie, where a small cohort of companies receive bespoke support to develop and spread their digital health technologies and innovations.

Medilink’s awards recognise the most innovative healthcare technologies that ultimately look to improve the lives of patients in our region and beyond. Spirit’s entry had a real patient-focus and they showcased some really impressive impacts so far. The fact there were so many extremely strong submissions in this category highlights that the East Midlands are at the cutting edge of health technology.”

Winners of the Medilink EM regional awards are automatically shortlisted for the national Medilink UK awards on 1 April 2020, which will be held at the NEC in Birmingham as part of the MTI Expo and Conference, run by Rapid News.
