I have been a Senior Innovation and Improvement Lead at Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) for five years now.

In that time, I have worked on supporting the adoption of medical technologies, providing project management guidance for early-stage innovations, and leading on initiatives that can support NHS and care organisations to implement safer care.

The work of the Senior Innovation and Improvement Lead is really varied and is based around engaging with our many health and care system partners to understand their needs and then coordinate our support to help them innovate and transform.

Over the last few years, I have met countless passionate, professional and brilliant people working across the East Midlands.

We, at HIEM, are privileged to be able to create links across systems and bring those people together in projects and programmes that could bring new ways of working that drive improvement.

This role is incredibly diverse and embraces people from diverse backgrounds. We are not given blueprint solutions to deliver, our role is to support the development of solutions using our quality, improvement and project management expertise.

Over time you will develop relationships not only across the East Midlands but the wider health innovation network where you will continue to learn new approaches to difficult, tricky issues, developing and improving on your own way of working.
