I am Eddie Alder, and I am the Head of Patient Safety at EMAHSN. A nurse by background, I have worked in a range of clinical and leadership roles across the East Midlands.
With a passion for innovation and improvement, it was probably inevitable that I would come to work at EMAHSN. I joined as Head of Patient safety 18 months ago, and what a busy time it has been! The last year has required us to rapidly adapt our programmes to respond to patient safety priorities arising from COVID-19. It has seen us grow as a team, as we expand to meet the demands of a new national commission from NHS England and Improvement.
As we start the new financial year, I am looking forward to welcoming new staff to our team. These new roles will be central in enabling us to deliver a range of expanded and new patient safety programmes. Perhaps this is the time for you to consider a career in patient safety?
As a team we are looking for a Deputy Head of Patient Safety, a Patient Safety Collaborative Project Officer, a Patient Safety Collaborative Programme Co-ordinator and a Patient safety Collaborative Operations Administrator that share our commitment, ambition and organisational values.
These exciting new roles play a pivotal part in making sure citizens throughout the East Midlands, and beyond, have the opportunity to benefit from our portfolio of innovations. If you join our team, we will support your development to help us to achieve this.

Additionally, we have a number of innovative local programmes including work to improve health outcomes for people living with a learning disability, and for those residing within care homes. Team members have found it rewarding to be able to work across a growing range of clinical themes, engaging with multiple stakeholders.
